How to cancel Zoom before it auto-renews
Checked against Zoom’s published terms on October 29, 2026. See the sources.
Zoom subscriptions renew on their own. Zoom’s Terms of Service say that stopping or changing the renewal takes written notice at least 30 calendar days before the next renewal term starts, sent through the billing portal or by email. Your order form can set different terms, so check it first.
- How
- Give Zoom notice through the billing portal, if your account has one, or by email to [email protected]. (source)
- By when
- At least 30 calendar days before the next renewal term starts, unless your order form says otherwise. (source)
- Fewer seats
- A change to the services on your order form needs the same notice, and it takes effect only when the next renewal term starts. (source) (source)
- If you miss it
- The next renewal term starts on its own. Its length is the renewal term in your order form. (source) (source)
Work out your last day to cancel
Enter your renewal date from the order form. Zoom's Terms of Service say 30 calendar days. Change it if your order form says something else.
Check your order form
The public terms are the default. Your order form, or a contract you signed, can override them, and it decides your deadline. Look for:
- The initial subscription term and the renewal term.
- A notice period that replaces the 30 days.
- How notice has to be given.
- The price that applies at renewal.

What Zoom’s published terms say
Each quote below is copied from Zoom’s own site. Each one carries the date we checked it, and a quote older than 90 days puts a warning at the top of this page until it is checked again.
“Unless your Order Form expressly states otherwise or applicable Law prohibits automatic renewal, each Renewal Term for the Services will begin automatically at the end of the then-current Initial Subscription Term or Renewal Term, as the case may be, unless either party provides written notice of termination or modification of the Services provided under such Order Form (i) at least thirty (30) calendar days prior to the commencement of the next Renewal Term, or (ii) within the notice period required by applicable Law”
“In order to terminate or modify the affected Services, you must provide notice to Zoom, via the billing portal (if available for your account) or in an email to [email protected], in accordance with the Renewal Notice Period.”
“Each Order Form will specify your Initial Subscription Term and any applicable Renewal Term for the Services.”
“Any timely and contractually available modification to the Services set forth on your Order Form will be effective only upon the commencement of your next Renewal Term, unless you request an increase in the Services, which will take effect as indicated in the applicable Order Form.”
